Benjamin O. Davis Mural (Tuskegee Airmen)

Between the Church of Santa Maria a Mare and the parking lot. Commemorative Object
The mural remembers General Benjamin O. Davis Jr. who commanded the 332nd Fighter Group "Red Tails", the famous "Tuskegee Airmen". The Tuskegee airmen flew off the nearby Ramitelli Airfield during WW2. The mural was dedicated in July 2023 along with a monument to the Tuskegee Airmen in nearby Nuova Cliternia.
The 332nd Fighter Group included the 99th, 100th, 301st, 302nd Fighter Squadrons of the US 12th & 15th Air Forces.
