Monument
A low concrete stele which a rectangular commemoration plaque is set into. At the top of the stele is a depiction of an airplane tail that is inscribed with the names and roles of the crew members. The inscriptions on the memorial are written in French and English. B-17 #42-29967 "Ruthie" was first hit by flak and then shot down by a fighter on July 4, 1943. The whole crew was taken as prisoners.

Air Force - 92nd BG - 407th BS, en grande difficulté lors d'un retour de
mission, se posa sur cette plage à marée basse. Les 10 membres
d'équipage, sains et saufs, seront faits prisonniers.

English translation:
On July 4, 1943, the American bomber B17 N°: 42-29967 of the 8th
Air Force - 92nd BG - 407th BS, in great difficulty during a return
mission, landed on this beach at low tide. All 10 crew
members were taken prisoner.
