Task Force Hogan Sherman Tank Memorial

Located directly in from of St. Lambert church. Combat Vehicle The tank is dedicated to Task Force Hogan and has several dedication plaques attached to it. 


Task Force Hogan was commanded by LTC Samuel Hogan. Task Force Hogan played a vital role during the Battle of the Bulge.

This M4A3 76 Sherman was assigned to C Company of the 771st Tank Battalion. It was disabled on 8 January 1945 after hitting several mines and catching fire during advancing from Magoster to Marcourai. It was abandoned in that location until 1984 when the town of Rendeux moved it to it current location and dedicated it as a memorial.   

This memorial was dedicated in 1984 by the town of Rendeux. 

Monument Text:

                                                              In dedication to the officers and men of Task Force Hogan Now designated-3rd BN 33rd Armor ("Pickles") The Battle of the Bulge, 22 Dec 1944. Task Force Hogan repulsed repeated attacks by overwhelming enemy forces. Low on supplies, the TF fought through enemy lines from here to Marcouray, on 25 Dec. Out of fuel, ammunition and surrounded by three German Divisions, TF Hogan destroyed its equipment, infiltrated enemy lines, and rejoined 3rd Armored Division.
