Plaque

A rectangular white plaque supported by a beam. The plaque is inscribed with a commemoration message that is written in French and lists 10 names on it, as well as their status and role in the plane. An image of a B-17 is also printed on the plaque. B-17G #42-97295 crashed 300 meters east of Cauchie-d'Ecques after being shot by flak on May 27, 1944. Five members were killed in this incident while the rests were able to survive but later were taken as prisoners.

Le bombardier B-17G du 390th Bomb Group endommagé au cours d'une mission sur Strasbourg's s'écrase au retour. Cinq équipiers sont tués, les autres faits prisonniers:

Radio : Clinton A. DAVISON (tué)

Mitrailleur ventral : Thomas H. LEWIS
