406th Fighter Group Monument
Details:
On the east side of the road.
A pyramidal monument made of mortared field stones and bearing two commemorative plaques. The plaque facing south contains the insignias of the three squadrons of the 406th FG, the 406th FG, the 9th Air Force, and a fighter plane. On the other plaque is a commemoration message that is written in French.

IN RECOGNITION OF THE US 406TH FIGHTER SQUAD STATIONED AT TOUR EN BESSIN AND CRETTEVILLE WHICH CONDUCTED SEVERAL ATTACK SORTIES ON ENEMY POSITIONS TO ASSIST U.S. ARMY FORCES DURING THE ADVANCE ON SAINT LO WHICH RESULTED IN THE LIBERATION OF NORMANDY AND THE EVENTUAL FREEDOM OF ALL OF FRANCE.
