A rectangular bronze plaque with a black background and single border containing a commemoration message written in English in gold and raised lettering. Below the plaque is an original 50 mm anti-tank cannon that was once used by the Germans. When the bunker got bombarded by USS Destroyer Frankford and the gun inside was silenced thanks to the heroic actions of Sergeant Hyman Haas of the 467^th AAA Weapons Battalion, the Germans inside were surrounded and forced to surrender.

THIS MARKER COMMEMORATES THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE 467^TH

ANT-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS BATTALION WHO

LANDED ON THE BEACH ON THE MORNING OF JUNE 6, 1944. THE

BATTALION SUFFERED HEAVY CASUALTIES IN THE NEUTRALIZATION

OF THE ENEMY BUNKERS GUARDING THE BEACH.

A SPECIAL RECOGNITION IS MADE TO THOSE WHO WERE KILLED OR

WOUNDED DURING THIS AND LATER CAMPAIGNS INTO

WESTERN EUROPE. MAY THEIR DEEDS NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,

DEDICATED BY THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF THE BATTALION.
