Maxwell Taylor HQ Plaque
Details:
On the pillars supporting the outside gate on either side of the gate.
The two plaques commemorate this location as the 101st US Airborne Division HQ starting on the morning of 6 June 1944. General Maxell Taylor, the Division Commander, remained here for eight days. The left bronze plaque is the insignia of the 101st Airborne Division. The right stone plaque has a gold leaf inscription and French text.
