In the churchyard located behind the church.
A square, granite tombstone, laid on the ground with engraved initials REW of Robert E. Wright. Wright was a Combat Medic in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment and jumped into France on D-Day. In the Angoville au Plain church, he ran an aide station tending to the wounded soldiers of both
sides as well as to civilians. In 2002 the village of Angoville-au-Plain erected a monument in honor of Robert E. Wright and his companion Kenneth J. Moore. Wright was present at the ceremony.
