A civilian flat grave with a brass inscribed plate.

 

Hyman Golinger was born in 1889 in Austria; he immigrated to the US in 1902.  He enlisted in the US Army in 1914 and served in the 3rd Infantry Regiment during the Mexican Border Operations.  He later moved to the Philippines where he served with the US Army as a civilian.  He was captured in 1942 and was a POW at Santo Tomas POW Camp.  He died in January 1945 of Beri-Beri as a POW.
