Three American Aviators Plaque - Chez les Picq

<< Back to Chez Les Picq

Details:

Mounted on the left side of the wall beside the entrance gate to the house.

Plaque

A rectangular, black, stone plaque, containing a message written in French in gold lettering. On the bottom of the plaque is the US Army Air Corps Officer’s cap badge. The plaque remembers 2Lt Goldstein (pilot) and Sgt Jasman (gunner), who were crew members of the B-17 # 42-3186 that crashed in Experimont. They were taken into this house after the fall of their plane. Through the help of the French resistance, they evaded German capture. They both arrived back in the UK in March 1944.
