The grave is located in Section C, Plot 30; the military gravestone is located on the ground to the left of the family memorial.

Isolated Burial


A standard flat white US Military gravestone and a family gravestone.

 

Private First Class Philip Lynch was a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment “Rock of the Marne” (G Company), 2nd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while attacking enemy positions on "Bloody Ridge" in North Korea on August 27, 1951. 

 

PFC Lynch was from Kilconly (Brooklawn), Ireland and enlisted in Massachusetts. A fellow Irish soldier, Private First Class Michael Herlihy, was also a member of the 38th Infantry Regiment and was KIA at the "Battle of the Bloody Ridge".  See site Ballydesmond, ISOB Herlihy for more on Herlihy.
