Sherman Tank - 10th Armored Division

Located in McAuliffe Square in downtown Bastogne. On the north corner of the intersection of N30, N84 and N85. Combat Vehicle


A large Sherman tank on a concrete base affixed with two small plaques honoring the 10th US Armored Division.  The tank has unit markings of the 11th Tank Battalion of the 10th "Tiger" Armored Division and was nicknamed "Barracuda". The tank shows were it was hit twice by enemy firing

Small brown and gold plaque on side: 


In honor of the valiant men of the 10th US Armored Division who gave their lives for freedom in the 1944-1945 Ardennes Campaign and in the Bastogne area

Gold plaque on front: 

This tank knocked out in December 44, recalls the sacrifice of all the fighters for the liberation of Bastongne and Belgium. (also translated in French, German and Dutch)
