Plaque

A black granite plaque inscribe in English text and incised with silver lettering. Printed on the top center is an illustration of a Pave Hawk, the 56th Rescue squadron crest on the opposite and photographs of each crew member on the left and right side. The plaque commemorates the crew of the HH-60G Pave Hawk 88-26109 'Jolly 22' which crashed into the nearby marshes on 7th January 2014 during a training exercise.

On the 7 January 2013, Jolly 22 was part of a two ship HH-60G training night flight, from RAFLakenheath's 56th RQS, performing low level training on the north Norfolk coast. During the flight Jolly 22 hit a flock of geese while flying at 110 feet at 110 knots rendering the pilot and co-pilot incapacitated. The helicopter crashed on the nature reserve of Cley-Next-The -Sea killing all four of the crew.
