Monument
A rose granite base with gold leaf engraving on which is mounted a propeller. The monument is set in gravel which is landscaped into a five pointed star shape.
The monument commerates two members of the crew of the B-26 Maurader 42-96284, piloted by 1Lt Gordon Keith Madson, from the airbase at Easton Lodge in the UK. The plane was shot down by flak at 0750 on 16 August 1944. Parsons and Alfredson, listed on the monument, were killed. Also on the crew were: 1Lt Nick J Mustari, copilot, who escaped; 2Lt Marvin D Lowman, navigator, who was taken prisoner; S/Sgt Warren M Hartman, machinegunner, who escaped; and T/Sgt John P Stankiewicz, radar operator, who was taken prisoner.
