On the north side of the road, the plaque is located on the facade of the apartment building directly above the entrance door. There are 2 other plaques on both sides. Plaque


A light stone plaque affixed on a cement sculpture of the US flag and 7th Army insignia which commemorates the stay of General Alexander Patch in the building from January 5 to March 27, 1945.

English translation:

 

General Patch, Commander of the US 7th Army, lived in this house from 5 January to 27 March 1945 while he was preparing, with Generals Eisenhower, Devers, and Patton, the attacks along the Rhine which permitted him to brilliantly finish in Austria the attacks that happily started in Provence.
