September 11th Memorial
Details:
In the memorial park on the south side of the intersection. Monument A black pentagon shaped metal plaque inscribed in bronze with English and German text. The American and German flags are also printed. Behind the plaque are metal fragments which represents the twin towers. The memorial commemorates those who lost their lives during the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and United Airlines Flight 93 which crashed in Pennsylvania. Designed by Hubert Kruft and donated by the Host Nation Council Spangdahlem and local businesses.
