28th Infantry Division Memorial-Wiltz
Details:
On the east side (Castle side) of Rue du Château on the roadside next to the Richard Brookings “St. Nick” monument.
A large stone in a garden with an inscribed plaque attached and the “Red Keystone” or “Bloody Bucket” the shoulder insignia of the 28th Infantry Division.
The monument was placed by the city of Wiltz to thank the 28th Infantry Division for liberating the town on September 10, 1944 and for defending it during the “Battle of the Bulge" in December 1944.

The text on the plaque is written in English and reads:
To the 28th U.S. Infantry Division
which liberated Wiltz on Sept 10th 1944
and gallantly defended our soil during the
Battle of the Bulge.
