526th Armored Infantry Battalion Plaque

Details:

This plaque rests at the base of the field stone that serves as the foundation for the other plaques located at the Stavelot Roadside site. Plaque This gold resin plaque has the shape of two short tablets which are connected to one another. It is lightweight and not attached to the stone tablet that it rests on. In the top center of the plaque is a cross that is surrounded by the text of the plaque. This plaque is dedicated to soldiers of the 526th Armored Infantry Battalion who were killed during the battle for Stavelot and contains text in both English and French. The battle referenced in the text of the plaque is the battle during which the soldiers of the 825th Tank Destroyer Battalion and 291st Engineer Combat Battalion listed on the plaque above were killed.
