5th Infantry Division Stele of Juvigny-sur-Loison (West)
Details:
The monument is located in a wooded area that is separated from the the D69 highway by a small irrigation ditch. It is slightly concealed by the surrounding vegetation. Marker This white concrete monument features a plaque describing (in French) the advance of the 5th Infantry Division as well as several representations of the unit's Red Diamond insignia. Two large diamonds are visible to oncoming traffic while the small one rests above the plaque.
This monument has recently been refurbished and repainted thanks to the support of Le Souvenir Français and its partners.

"Avance extrême du 61e régiment d'infanterie
de la 5e U.S. division, commandé par le colonel P.B. PEYTON."
English Translation:
"Furthest advance of the 61st Infantry Regiment
of the 5th U.S. Division, commanded by Colonel P.B. Peyton."
