This Ford GPA is located in the room called "Les Alliés Seconde Guerre mondiale" (The Allies during the Second World War) in the back of the museum.  Combat Vehicle The GPA was produced between 1942 and 1943. Despite being unpopular due to its difficult maneuverability, the GPA was sold to the Soviet Union which continued to manufacture them. Other drawbacks of the GPA included the fact that it sat too low in the water and had limited space to carry cargo. The GPA was nicknamed the "Sea Jeep" or "Seep" for short as well as "the jeep in a bathtub." GPA are frequently used today as tour boats.

"This amphibious vehicle is nothing more than a jeep with a special body work allowing it to float on rivers or calm sea waters. It is prepared with a declutchable propellor situated at the rear and possesses a hole pump. 12278 specimen were built."
