LTC Donaldson Memorial -749th Tank Battalion

Details:

The memorial is located in the middle of the hedge that parallels D21 (Route du Mans). If you are facing the memorial, there are fields and a large agricultural factory in the background. Monument


The monument is comprised of a small stone part and a larger concrete tablet which features a marble plaque dedicated to LTC. Donaldson and a small hand-made triangle that shows the "Fear Our Rage" insignia of the 749th Tank Battalion. The 749th Tank Battalion landed in Normandy (Utah Beach), fought down to Laval (west of Loué), and pushed on to Paris, Belgium, Strasbourg, and ultimately Germany.
