Details:

Just to the South of a path running west from the main Parachutist monument in the Mitan Park.

Monument
Tall metal structure coming out of the ground at and angle with a small white plaque at its base with the glider insignia.

Monument Text:

"Comme l'éclair d'un orage d'été à l'aube du 15 aout 1944, 9000 hommes des armées alliées furent parachutés ou transportés par 400 planeurs dans la plaine de La Motte pour libérer la Provence et libérer la France.

Placés sous le commandement du général FREDERICK ils devaient rejoindre le hameau de Mitan.

Œuvre de BEPPO artiste contemporain Dracénois déplacée et implantée sur le site du Mémorial du Mitan à La Motte, Premier village libéré de Provence, en Juillet 2016."

English translation:

"As the lightning of a summer storm at the dawn of August 15, 1944, 9000 men of the Allied armies were parachuted or transported by 400 gliders in the plain of La Motte to liberate Provence and liberate France.

Placed under the command of General Fredderick, they were to join the hamlet of Mitan.
