A blue plaque with gold leaf lettering in French honoring Captain Alexander M Patch III, killed in the area.  His father, General Alexander M. Patch II, was the 7th Army  commander in the US invasion of southern France in August 1944. The fighting in this are was part of the US Armys 1944 Lorraine Campaign.
