Mounted on the concrete wall is a stone plaque with French text commemorating the meeting of Generals Patch and Lattre de Tassigny after the invasion on 15 August 44.

English translation:

Elements of the 7th US Army and Army B of the RAF under the command of General Patch and General Lattre de Tassigny, who had invaded under the protection of allied and French Navies and with the aid of patriots of the French Maures Brigade met here on  15 August 1944.
