The Plaque is located on the facade of the Hotel Regina, in between two windows. Plaque This marble plaque, standing roughly ten feet off the ground, commemorates the founding of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent on Sunday May 5th, 1919 in the Hotel Regina. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent was founded here by the combining of the National Red Cross Societies of the United States, Great Britain, France, Italy, and Japan to protect human life and health. It now reaches approximately 160 million people in need each year.
