Lieutenant Clyde 'Sparky' Cosper Memorial -306th Bomber Group

The memorial is located in the courtyard to the south of the main library entrance. Plaque


The memorial features an engraved granite plaque mounted on a slanted red brick base. All text is in English. The memorial was erected and is maintained by the Princes Risborough Town Council. More information regarding Cosper and the events surrounding his death is available within the library. 

LT Cosper served with the 367th Bomber Squadron, 306th Bomber Group and was flying the B-17 (42-31038) 'Miriam' when he steered it away from crashing into the village on November 13, 1943.
