Airborne Memorial - Normandy
Details:
Located on the grass between the church parking lot and the D974 across the street from shops.
The stele remembers those wounded and killed in the 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne during Operation Overlord as well as the other Airborne units from other nations (Great Britain; Canada; Free French) that were part of the Normandy Operation.
It thanks the men who died for sacrificing their futures for the liberty of the world. The stone used is shaded in a way evocative of a parachute. The lettering is black and gold.
