The memorial is directly in front of a playground, in a park with benches and trees. Monument The memorial is a stone fountain, with a decorative faucet. It was presented to the village by the people of the State of Connecticut. The memorial honors the Connecticut soldiers of the Army's 102nd Infantry, 26th Division who died fighting in the town on April 20th, 1918.

IN THE FIRM BELIEF THAT THE FRIENDSHIP
OF FRENCHMEN AND AMERICANS SEALED
IN THIS PLACE IN BATTLE SHALL SERVE
