Lavena Ponte Tresa is a comune (municipality) on Lake Lugano in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometers (37 mi) northwest of Milan and about 15 kilometers (9 mi) north of Varese, on the border with Switzerland. The site is located outside the Basilica del SS. Crocifisso ( Holy Cross).
