Opende Protestant Church and Cemetery

Description:

The Opende Protestant Church is a small red brick building with large, white-framed windows, a black roof, and a small steeple with a weather vane in the form of a rooster at its top. It is surrounded by the cemetery which is home to a memorial to the crew of a B-17 that crashed near Opende during World War II.

The site is located 1.6 kilometers from east of the center of town. From Opende, proceed east on Provincialeweg (N981) for 1.5 kilometers and then turn south on Openderweg. The church and cemetery are located on the west side of this road.
