Clark R. Elliott was born on February 2, 1872 in Morgan County, Ohio. Elliott was inducted into service on 20 June 1894 at Minneapolis. He spent 24 years in the regular army & Minnesota volunteers. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was raised to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in 1917. Colonel Elliot, 45 years old, was a victim of machine gun fire while inspecting American troops on the Aisne-Marne front on July 30, 1918. He is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. He also has cenotaph in Victory Memorial Drive, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA.
