Albertus Bray was born on January 23, 1896 in Wabash, Wabash County, Indiana. He was the son of Rughey and Lenora Bray. His foster parents are Mr. and Mrs. N.W. Isgrigg. He was a farmer before enlisting and entered the service on October 6, 1917. He was sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky and was assigned to Company C, 151st Infantry. He was transferred to Camp Shelby, Mississippi and was assigned to Company K, 26th infantry. He embarked overseas on June 11, 1918. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 at the age of 22 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument in the 18th Infantry Regiment.
