When Charles H. "Charlie" Bramblett was born in 1901 in Chatsworth, Georgia, his father, Charles, was 26 and his mother, Amanda, was 25. He had one brother and one sister. He entered the service on April 17, 1917. He received his military training in local camps, and embarked for overseas service on December 20, 1917. While attached to Company A, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, he was engaged in active service at the front, and was Killed in Action at Soissons, France on July 18, 1918. He was Killed in Action but declared ""Missing"" on July 18, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as PVT C H BRANBELTT.
