When Guss Arnold was born in April 1888 in Kentucky, his father, Benjaman, was 39 and his mother, Mary, was 34. He had three brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company K, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
