When Robert M. Hughett was born in February 1898, his father, William, was 27 and his mother, Martha, was 29. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Knoxville National Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, USA. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as PVT R M HUGGETT.
