When Homer E. Crumb was born in June 1896 in Sedgwick, Arkansas, his father, Jaccb, was 45 and his mother, Amanda, was 42. He had two brothers and five sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company H, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on May 29, 1918 and is now buried in Hosea Cemetery, Knobel, Clay County, Arkansas, USA. His name is also inscribed on a memorial located in Corning, Arkansas.
