"Funeral Services For Fallen Hero Former Munday Boy Killed in Battle,In France

News of the death of Pvt.Clayton Duane Finch a former Knox County boy has been received.The body will arrive in Weatherford on Friday. Services will be of Military Honor conducted by the Parker County American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Duane the son of Mrs.Ethel Roxie Strickland Finch (Neece) and the late Henry William Finch.

He is survived by his mother(Ethel Neece) stepfather(Lafayette Andrew Neece)two sisters Thelma Lucille Finch and Billie Jean Finch and one stepbrother Pvt.Vergil L.Neece along with three stepsisters-Alva Dorene,H.Lucrecia Neece Call(husband Calvin Call),Velda Neece Elliott(husband Edward Elliott).

The family is residing in the Peaster community of Parker County where Clayton attended Peaster High.He lacked one credit to graduate when he volunteered for service in the Army on March 11 1943.

He was killed in action at the age of 19 years,7 months and 21 days."
