Edgar J. Albert joined the U.S. military from Connecticut. He served as a First Lieutenant in World War II. Pilot of the P-47 Thunderbird Serial Number 42-75161 YJP that took off from air station 366 in Metfield, Suffolk, UK on a bomber escort mission over France. Shot down in aerial combat at 1245. He was killed on February, 5, 1944. 1LT Albert was initially buried in the temporary American Cemetery in Villeneuve-sur-Auvers. He is currently buried in the Brittany American Cemetery in Saint-James, France.
