Elijah Miles Abrams was born on July 31, 1911 to Elijah A. Abrams and Florence McCollum. He grew up in Centralia, Illinois. He married Melvina Todd. They lived in downtown St Louis and had five children: Authur, Jasper, Glennon, Robert, and Elma. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on March 24, 1945 and is now buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA.
