Born 8 Dec 1917 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. While serving in the 37th Tank Battalion in Valhey, France, he and his crew dismounted from their tank when it was disabled by heavy enemy fire. One crewman was caught inside the burning tank. Sgt Sadowski was killed when he went back to attempt to rescue him. He was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor on 23 April 1945 for his heroic action. In addition to being honored on a monument in Valhey, France, the Sadowski Field House at Fort Knox is named in his honor. Plus, a monument to Sadowski was erected on the Parkway bearing his name in Perth Amboy by the Society of Polish Combatants (Stowarzyszenie Polskich Kombatantow), Post 40.
