From Find a Grave:Services for Reuben Dale Parker, 83, of Cairo, Ill., formerly of Calloway County, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. The Rev. David Brasher and the Rev. Larry Potts will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Mr. Parker died at 4 a.m. Thursday at Daystar Care Center in Cairo. Mr. Parker was a retired teacher, having taught in Kuttawa; New Concord; Crown Point, N.M.; Bunker, Mo.; and Cairo. He received his master's degree from Murray State University and his doctorate from the University of New Mexico. He was a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Army and was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.
