CPT McConahey was a Battalion Surgeon in the 344th Field Artillery Battalion, 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division. He came in on Utah Beach on D plus 2. He served as the battalion surgeon throughout the war. He later became a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. His wife Adrienne died 5 years after him, in 2009.
