2nd Lt Robert “Bob” O. Lorenzi, pilot of the B-17 42-31325, took off from station 142 in Deopham Green, Norfolk, UK on a bombing mission over Frankfurt. Shortly after bombs away, the plane was hit by flak and came under attack from German Fw-190 fighters. He bailed out successfully and returned to the UK on the MGB 503 as part of Op Bonaparte 4 on March 19-20th 1944. His full E&E report #489 can be found at http://media.nara.gov/nw/305270/EE-489.pdf.

Robert died on February 5, 2007 at the age of 84 and is now buried in the Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington, USA.
