Ralph W. Posey was born on September 6, 1912. He was the son of David Dow Posey and Jessie Conn Robertson. Ralph served in the 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He was killed in action during the liberation of the coastal town of Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, France and is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
