Born May 13, 1912. Trained as a tank destroyer but attended OCS and volunteered for the airborne. Excelled in combat and was knighted by the queen of the Netherlands for his bravery. Commanded A Company with the 508th PIR during Normandy Invasion, Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. Had two sons who both died before him.
