When Elza Mosher was born in 1921, his father, Elza, was 23 and his mother, Leona, was 19. He had one daughter with Delores Iona Weckel in 1942. He entered the military service in Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on May 5, 1945 and is now buried in Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
