When Tec5 Maurice F. Bohrer was born in 1921 in District of Columbia, his father, Alvin, was 24 and his mother, Faye, was 21. He had one sister. Maurice was an alumnus of Elliott Junior High School and had been an employee of Lansburgh's department store. Maurice F. Bohrer was married to Margaret C. Sanderson of Kansas City, Missouri on 21 Mar 1942 in Duval, Florida.

He entered the military service in District of Columbia. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 1st Reconnaissance Troop, 1st Infantry Division.

The family of Maurice F. Bohrer, was informed that he was missing in action as of 1 Mar 1945. They were later notified that Maurice F. Bohrer was killed in Germany 1 Mar 1945.

Maurice was a veteran of the European theater in which he saw action in the invasions of Africa, Sicily and Normandy.

Maurice and his father were in most of the same European theater campaigns but they never saw each other.
