When Carrel F. Poovey was born on August 18, 1918, his father, David, was 28 and his mother, Mary, was 27. He married Carrie Eileen Morgan on August 18, 1918, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He enlisted in the Army on September 9, 1943 and trained at Camp Wallace, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a First Lieutenant in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on March 1, 1945 and is now buried in Oakland Memorial Cemetery, Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas, USA.
