When William Franklin Niccum was born on June 5, 1919, his father, Lester, was 23 and his mother, Edna, was 20. He married Doris Mary Smith in 1939 in Madison, Indiana. He enlisted in the Army on June 1944. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on March 19, 1945 and is now buried in Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Madison County, Indiana, USA.
