John Allen Beasley was born on February 21, 1930, in Eldridge, Walker County, Alabama. He was the son of Thomas Franklin Beasley Jr. and Lassie Virginia Blair Beasley. He served in the 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during the Korean War.

PFC Beasley was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy on "Bunker Hill" in North Korea on September 20, 1952, and died of those wounds later that day before he could be evacuated to Japan. He was buried in the Fern Springs Cemetery, Dogtown, Walker County, Alabama, USA.
